Thanh Nien has posted excerpts of interviews with several individuals, across different sectors including the National Assembly, about the recent arrests of the Thanh Nien and Tuoi Tre journalists. What is striking is how outspoken some of the respondents are. The National Assembly has never been purely a rubber stamp body but it is interesting to see public statements of this nature.
Thanh Nien (and Tuoi Tre) do not seem to be backing down and are aggresively defending their journalists. In recent days, Thanh Nien has published articles with the following headlines, “Free the Honest Journalists” and “The People’s Trust”.
